Woot.com Review

Woot.com utilizes the internet’s power to sell stuff and these are items that they don’t manufacture or market themselves. Woot.com is a smart way of selling merchandise built around a community driven portal.
Shopping community portals have been around for some time. The internet presents everyone with a level playing field to do business. They present the idea of having a shopping community that spreads the word around using this novel way of shopping.
The website has added a twist to the idea of shopping online by showcasing only one product for sale per day. Sales start from 12 am central time, for 24 hours, or until the product is sold out. If the product is say a gps running watch, and has sold out during the 24 hours then Woot.com displays the ‘sold out'sign instead of refilling the shelf with a new product.
Woot.com uses various tools to encourage community environment. They have a community section with a message board and a blog. They encourage shoppers and other community members to engage in genuine chat about the products and how Woot operates in general. Apparently, no filtering of bad reviews is done by Woot, allowing prospective buyers to see what is, as is. There is a healthy community feel and Woot signifies ‘sold out'status to the efforts of this community only.
Since Woot’s policy is to sell ‘cool cheap stuff'which is constantly under the scrutiny of a large population of followers, they have to be on their heels to live up to this reputation.
